This is something you get used to quickly, but there's room for improvement there. Like many other headsets right now, it uses lcd screens instead of oled, so the blacks are not as deep and immersive as they could be. The Reverb's lenses have a fairly specific sweet spot, some people have hard a hard time finding that perfect fit. Once I get the G2 properly adjusted, it's very comfortable and I can quickly find the sweet spot every time I put it on. I loved the fit of the Oculus Rift CV1, and HP has adopted and improved all of the best parts of that headset design. The headset is very lightweight compared to the Index, and HP worked with Valve to adopt some of the Index's best features: the speakers and much of the padding/interface design.

There's a community hack that allows it to use my Oculus CV1 controller setup (almost as good as Valve controllers), but I don't feel the need for it, since the Reverb's controller tracking is still quite good.įor me, the best parts of the Reverb are the ergonomics. The upcoming Meta Quest is looking very nice, many people are waiting for it to release soon. The Valve Index headset is great for its high refresh rate (compared to the Reverb's 90hz), and has a fairly wide field of view, but a lower resolution than the Reverb. Many people combine the Reverb G2 with Valve Index Controllers for near perfect hand tracking. They still work well, but have fairly buzzy haptics and the buttons are cheap. Also the Reverb's contollers feel a bit cheaper than Meta/Oculus controllers. It's still perfectly fine, just a little more jittery. If you don't mind the cable, the HP Reverb G2's headset is hard to beat, but the controller tracking isn't quite as refined as Oculus Quest 2. They no longer require a Facebook account, but you can still use it if you like. Meta now allows you to have just a seperate Meta account for your headset. RX 6600 (I think? I'll need to check when I'm home lmao)

My PC Specs (despite probably not using it if I have to be in the same room as it) areġTB Space (idk if thats important but could be if theres chunky software) And the PC, I have one, but my room is way too small for VR.Īnyway, thank you to anyone willing to tell info (also if you could add rough prices (UK) that'd be great too) The facebook account is meh because i barely use facebook and any of it's stuff but I do have one.

I know some pros and cons are different for everyone so things like the meta needing a facebook account, or the valve index needing a PC would be a mix of both (or you put it in a pro or con and i decide what it is). So I wondered if someone, or people from the community could tell me pros and cons of various headsets. I always see 'BEST VR HEADSET 2023' or 'Guys what's the best VR headset for under 500' and yeah they can be helpful, but theres so much information and different info and so many headsets. I've been wanting to get a VR headset myself for a while now for games that aren't on PSVR like Blade and Sorcery, boneworks, all that shabang. Cool, don't sue it that often, and often times my brother or dad is using the PS (I'm a PC gamer). So I (well my dad but we'll say I (18 btw) for the time being) have a PSVR. Schedule an AMA!
